Re: What Irked Me Today...

The worse is when a customer asks you 'what do you think of this on me?"   You have to say, 'splendid' as telling an overweight socialite, "well lady, you look like a heifer in heat!" Doesn't go over well!  sad

Re: What Irked Me Today...

So it's only 9:10 am and I am already irked beyond compare!

If it wasn't a necessary evil to work another job during my down time from my company, I wouldn't.  So the company I work for just installed a new accounts recievable system.  My job is to manage both the old (until the recievables are down enough that they either sell it off to another company or take the financial hit and write it off ) and the new (has technical difficulties beyond recognition).

I have technically 2 bosses who can't communicate to each other.  The one is super great to work with and the other...NOT SO MUCH!  The great one out ranks the nasty one and it feels like she is always trying to undermine the nice one.  I've just about had enough of being pulled in ten different directions!  Not everything is on fire people!  Am I a snitch if I say something to the great one?  I'm not sure how much more biting my tongue will take before it's laying on the floor.

What really needs to happen is the three of us need to get together, come up with a plan to use all of our resources to the best we can, and move on!  URRRGH...

Sorry just needed to vent to someone outside of my realm.  I'd like to say I feel better but I don't really.  I need some tylenol!

Hope you have a better day than I am...

She runs with the one she can’t keep up with.  Strange he slows down so desperate to stop her.  They meet in the middle.  They both run from the one who hunts them.  They drop to the forest floor frozen.

Re: What Irked Me Today...

I showed up three hours early for work today. That irked me just a little.

You might explain to "good boss" that things could be a bit more efficient with a few guidelines established so that you aren't being pulled in opposite directions so to speak and ask if it would be possible for the three of you to sit down and discuss the appropriate course and eleminate any counterproductive efforts or side issues, say any specific item being bandied by "bad boss" to the detriment of "good boss" - ideally in a non-confrontational manner. Then be prepared to offer some recommendations to set the ship on the proper course. Can't imagine a "good" boss not being eager to improve the status quo. Good luck. Take care. Vern

Thanks Vern!  Great advice!

Re: What Irked Me Today...

I love this thread.  What irked me today is that I have no time to do the reviews I owe and because of that I won't get any sleep and because of that I'll be too tired to review in the morning and because of that...

But what really irks me is commas. I abolish all commas. Actually, I'd pay to have them all removed but I have no money, so I'll ask Patti for money (she always helps me).

But what really irks me is those frigin' commas. I abolish all commas. Actually, I'd pay to have them all removed but I have no money, so I'll ask Patti for money (she always helps me). And then what really irks me is that Ken insists on doing all the cooking and cleaning so I can rest in the sun.

What 'irked' me or should I say.. made me grin?   The last entry in this thread?  Rather old! haaaa.. Actually started a couple of years ago?    Ask me for money?  Better do it quick!  One more family emergency and I will end up on food stamps!  You know me as a mother and that means.. I don't give a damn how old they are if life hands them a 'raw deal?" I am one pissed off mama!   It has been a very harsh 2012 so far.  BUT.. compared to so many?  Nada!

Don't abolish commas! I may still learn how to use or refuse em!

Sis..

Re: What Irked Me Today...

My Flowing Mouth. Do you have any idea how horrific my life is! Commas assault me in the night, especially since Seabrass interceded. They scream at me through the glass doors, they viciously attack me. Okay...I still like a little screaming action in the night, but come on!

You all may think me silly and frivilous about my battered writer problem, but until you'v been there, please do not judge.

In my reviews, people switch my commas to periods and then other people switch them back again. I've never been a problem drinker, but the comma has driven me to the edge.

I so thank you all for your time and concern.   Queenie Irene.

Haaaaa... I'm telling Mom on You!

So commas are putting you into a coma?  Would you like to comment on that?  It is common for people to lapse into a coma if common cohorts.. commit the comma crime!

Re: What Irked Me Today...

Now I turn in for the night.  I pray that Seabrass and his twisted commas do not find me (hiding under the bed with my warm and cosy dust bunnies).  God...the nightmares...
